Open LMS at the RECLA International Meeting 2024

Open LMS connected with education leaders, continuing education professionals, and learning innovators at the XXIX RECLA International Meeting in Lima, Peru, from October 1–4, 2024. Under the theme “Agile and Transformative Leadership in Continuing Education in New Environments of Change,” the event explored how institutions can adapt learning models to a rapidly changing educational landscape.

Rethinking Continuing Education

RECLA 2024 focused on the strategic role of continuing education and the need for institutions to respond more effectively to changing learner, workforce, and societal needs. The programme encouraged participants to examine new approaches to leadership, lifelong learning, microcredentials, inclusion, and educational innovation.

For institutions in the U.S. and around the world, these conversations reflect a growing need to make continuing education more flexible, accessible, and aligned with evolving professional skills.

Exploring Digital Transformation and AI

Technology was a central part of the event, with sessions addressing digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the development of new learning experiences. These discussions examined how emerging technologies can contribute to innovation while helping institutions maintain the relevance and quality of continuing education.

Learning platforms can play an important role in this transformation by supporting flexible delivery, learner engagement, content management, and scalable online programmes.

Connecting Leaders and Sharing Experiences

The RECLA International Meeting brought together more than 250 educators, researchers, business leaders, and continuing education professionals from Latin America, Spain, and other countries. Networking sessions and workshops created opportunities to share institutional experiences and explore common challenges.
