Best practices: Creating successful online courses for newbies
For many seasoned educators teaching can be a breeze. Teaching online on the other hand is an entirely different gust of wind which presents its own unique set of challenges.

With the latest release of joule 2 instructors can now add the Drag-and-Drop Matching question type into a Quiz activity. This question type allows users to drag answer to a question. It is great for sorting information especially information that is visual in nature phased or process-oriented.
With a new Joule 2.3 release coming right in step with the holiday season Learning Solutions would like to spread some seasonal cheer (“Jouletide” joy) by highlighting two of the fantastic new features that will be available to instructors after the Dec. 28 product release.
One of my favorite features in Moodle™ is the Lesson activity. Why do I love the Lesson activity so much? Simply put it enables instructors to create differentiated learning paths for students or groups of students by strategically sequencing learning activities throughout a series of web pages. These differentiated learning paths also make it easier for instructors to remediate learning for their students.
As learning continues to thrive beyond the confines of the traditional face-to-face classroom and into exciting new e-learning and virtual environments the need to design courses that are pedagogically sound and quality-driven is a must.
Are you running out of ideas for using Moodle™ in your classroom? For designers and instructors it’s easy to get stuck in a pattern of using the same activities over and over again. Don’t feel bad if you do as we’re all creatures of habit.
